Keeping Our Greens in Top Condition

At Centenary Park Golf Course, maintaining high-quality playing surfaces is a year-round job. As part of our annual course maintenance program, our greens will undergo essential renovation works on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 September 2026.

To minimise disruption to play, the renovation will be completed across two days:

• Tuesday 1 September: Front nine greens will be completed
• Wednesday 2 September: Back nine greens will be completed

The works will include hollow tining and topdressing which are important maintenance practices that help keep our greens healthy, resilient and ready for the growing season ahead.

Hollow tining removes small cores of soil from the green, helping to relieve compaction, improve air and water movement through the soil profile, and create better growing conditions for the turf. Topdressing then helps restore the surface, improve smoothness and support the long-term health of the greens.

While these works are essential, we know they can have an impact on your round. The greens will look and play differently immediately following renovation, and you may notice some disruption to the playing surfaces for several weeks as the turf recovers.

The good news is that this short-term disruption is an important investment in the long-term quality and playability of our greens. With the right conditions and ongoing care, the surfaces will gradually return to their usual playing condition as they recover and establish through the growing season.
