5 week fully funded intensive program for beginner teens only

  • WHERE & WHEN: 5-week program at PARC. Commencing week of Monday 17 August 2026. Running Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon/evening (2.55pm or 6.45pm).
  • WHO: Teenagers aged between 13 – 17 years old, suitable for beginners with little to no swimming experience or confidence. Our teen intensive program is designed for teenagers who have had little or no prior experience in swimming or water safety. This program teaches the basics of water safety and is a beginner step for teens to build confidence, learn basic skills and give reassurance in and around the water.
  • WHAT: This 5-week teen intensive program is an opportunity for adults who have never had previous opportunities to learn how to swim or have very limited or no water safety skills or knowledge. Participants will gain confidence, learn essential water safety and survival skills helping them feel more comfortable joining friends in and around the water. The program supports teens to develop independence, make safer decisions and avoid risky situations in real-life settings whilst recreating in and around aquatic environments.
  • COMMITMENT: 1 x 45minute session per week, over 5 weeks. Plus, a short survey at the commencement and conclusion of your program.
  • COST: Fully subsidised, thanks to the support of our partner Frankston City Council. We ask that you complete a pre and post program survey for us to measure outcomes and skills learnt.
  • HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Expression of interest will open Monday 20 July and will be closing Sunday 9 August.

Who is this program for?
Teenagers aged between 13 – 17 years old of the Frankston community who has no or Low swimming ability

When will I find out which class I have been allocated?
Confirmation of place in the program and specific class will be emailed at least one week prior to the program

What do I do if I cannot attend a class?
If you are unable to attend a class, unfortunately there are no makeup classes available. Please consider your availability to be able to attend every class over the 5 weeks of the program.

Do I need to complete a pre and post survey?
Yes – to be part of this program you will be required to complete a short pre and post survey.

Do I have to stay at the centre with my child for the duration of their lesson?

As per our Watch Around Water policy, children over the age of 13 are not required to have a parent/guardian in centre however we strongly encourage a parent/guardian to stay for the duration of the lesson.

Do I need to pay anything for the program?
No – this program is fully funded and includes 5 weeks of access to PARC as well as a carpark permit for PARC.

What do I need to bring to my swimming class?
Bag with belongings – lockers will be available for use to place valuables

Towel
Goggles – optional but strongly encouraged
