Are you looking for a flexible, fun and interesting profession?
Swimming lessons and water safety education are important skills for all people living in Australia. Becoming a swimming teacher is a very rewarding job where you teach people of all ages how to swim and how to be more confident in and around water. You do not need experience. You do need the confidence to give it a go! Sound interesting?
Our PARC Swim STAR Program supports you on your journey to become a qualified swim teacher and pays you as you undergo your training!
What is the PARC Swim STAR Program?
Our STAR (Swim Teacher Active Recruitment) program is free! Our program offers selected participants the opportunity to undergo their swimming teacher qualification, with the associated costs covered by PARC and support to complete paid shadow hours in the water from the very beginning.
The program is open to the entire Frankston community and would suit all walks of life – retirees looking to feel connected with the community, mums or dads looking for hours that suit their busy lifestyles, people who are studying and even those still at school with flexible hours outside school times and on the weekends.
The minimum age to begin training to become a licensed swimming teacher is 16 years old. The STAR Program allows you to complete the course and training hours whilst being paid as an Assistant. By the time you complete your course, you are ahead of the game, can be paid a higher rate and start teaching solo immediately!
What’s included?
- Offer of employment as a swimming teacher with PARC
- Costs covered by PARC, including:
- Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Course – $400
