Benefits of Strength Training

Strength training – also known as resistance training or weight training – is one of the most effective ways to improve your overall health and fitness.

Whether you’re new to the gym or looking to level up your routine, incorporating strength training can help you move better, feel stronger, and get more out of every workout.

Why strength training matters

Strength training offers a wide range of benefits beyond building muscle, including:

  • Burn more energy efficiently during and after your workout
  • Improve mobility and range of motion for everyday movement
  • Support bone health, especially as you age
  • Boost metabolism by increasing lean muscle mass
  • Enhance cardiovascular health as part of a balanced routine

Strength training for women

Strength training for women is essential for building strength, supporting bone density, and improving confidence.

It won’t make you “bulky” – instead, it helps create lean muscle, improve posture, and support long-term health.

Don’t skip upper body training

Upper body training is key for a balanced program. Regular upper body weight training can:

  • Improve posture and reduce strain on your neck and back
  • Make everyday tasks like lifting and carrying easier
  • Support performance across all workout

A feel good Friday post for you... Nic kicks two goals, in one! 🏉

Nicole, one of our long term PARC Team members, achieved a life-long dream last weekend.

Nic has always wanted to play football, and last week, she not only achieved that dream, but kicked her first goal at her very first game! What made it even more special was who she shared it with. Her daughter Bella was her teammate on the field (you might recognise Bella from the PARC Cafe!), her son Billy was the proud goal umpire🌟

Nic is an amazing part of Team PARC, and an example that shows it doesn’t matter how old you are to start something new. If you have a dream or goal that you want to achieve, go for it, we are here to support you! Congrats Nic! 🩵
