Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay @ PARC, Sunday 11 February

We are excited to announce that PARC has been chosen as the first live site in Frankston to host the Queen’s Baton Relay on Sunday 11 February. Come along and cheer on local legends as they carry the Queen’s Baton through Frankston City, towards its final destination – the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Opening Ceremony on 4 April 2018. The Baton will begin it’s Frankston journey at PARC on Sunday at 3:30pm. We have an action-packed afternoon planned, with free children’s activities, sausage sizzle, DJ, health and fitness demonstrations and so much more!

When: Sunday 11 February
Time: 2:30pm – 4:30pm
Where: PARC

Changed traffic/parking conditions

Due to this special event, there will be limited parking available in our main carpark between 6am – 6pm on Sunday 11 February. To help alleviate pressures of finding a car park, Chisholm Institute have kindly allocated car parking space for PARC members on this day. Please refer to the orange zones on the below map for alternative parking:
For those attending group exercise classes and swim lessons, please make sure you plan ahead and leave a little earlier to ensure you can find a park. Due to this disruption we will be opening our group entrance on the carpark side of the building for all members. Simply present your member band to the staff upon entry. We hope to see you here and want to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Have you heard of Incidental Exercise? 🧹🚶‍♀️

Incidental exercise is physical activity that occurs naturally as part of your daily routine! It’s the small bursts of activity you accumulate throughout the day, such as carrying in the groceries, or playing with the kids, that helps you achieve your 30-20-2.

Some examples of Incidental Exercise are:
- Doing housework like vacuuming, mopping, or gardening
- Walking up stairs instead of taking elevator or escalator
- Parking further away from your destination to get your steps up
- Walking during lunch breaks, or having a standing meeting

Remember, all movement counts! 🌟

For more information about 30-20-2, or helpful resources and workouts to get you moving, head to our Digital Hub.
How cute it this?! 🦄

Help us ensure PARC is a safe venue for the whole community to enjoy 🏊

At PARC, we participate in the statewide Watch Around Water program. Watch Around Water is an education and public awareness-raising program that defines the minimum supervision requirements for children in a pool setting.

When visiting PARC, your child will be given a coloured wristband, based on their age. These wristbands help our lifeguards identify the level of supervison required for your child, and support a safe aquatic environment for everyone.

Did you know that our vision is that 'Every Child In Frankston Can Swim'? 🌳👶

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision.

By joining this year’s Birth Tree, you will receive a timeless tribute of your loved one in the form of a tree and plaque. Equally importantly, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to the community to help more children build confidence in the water, with free infant swimming lessons through the Can Swim initiative. 🏊

You can purchase a place for a baby born this year on the Birth Tree here: https://events.humanitix.com/parc-2026-birth-tree-and-family-garden
