How to hit your 20-30-2 at PARC

As we all get back into routine now that school is back and the holidays are well and truly over, we want to help support you in staying active and making movement a consistent part of your week.

This year, we said our goal for 2026 is to get our community moving more, in a way that works for them. Our theme for this year is 30 or 20 plus 2, which is an easy formula to ensure you are getting enough exercise in your week:

30 minutes of moderate activity per day

OR

20 Minutes of vigorous activity per day

PLUS

2 muscle strengthening session per week

Our 30‑20‑2 formula is based on the Australian National Physical Activity Guidelines. Simply put, they are a guide on how much movement you need each day or each week to feel your best.

At PARC there are so many different ways you can achieve 30 or 20 plus 2.

Moderate activity:

  • Walk on the treadmill
  • Group exercise classes such as Tai Chi, Bodybalance or Yoga Class
  • Gentle lap swimming or walking in the pool
  • 30 minutes on the cross trainer

Vigorous activity:

  • Session the rowing machines
  • Group exercise classes such as Zumba, HIIT class or GRIT Cardio
  • Interval session on the treadmill or bike
  • PARC Fit Run
  • Lap swimming or deep water running

Strength session:

  • Complete a body weight workout
  • Weight lifting
  • Squats in the Warm Water Pool for something low impact
  • Group exercise classes such as Powerzone, Reformer Pilates or Les Mills Core.

These are just a few fantastic options that you can choose from at PARC. Everyone’s fitness journey is different, and we’re here help to you find the right fit for your fitness routine.

Bright bathers = safer swimmers 🌈🩳

Our PARC Swim team demonstrate that when it comes to swimwear for little ones, the right colour can matter!

🟡 Bright colours like neon orange, pink, yellow or lime green can be easier to spot.
🔵 While some dark or pale colours and may disappear in busy pools or in open water.

As we enter the height of Summer, and more of us in and around water, help your children stand out for all the right reasons!
