Ready, Set, Swing: Peninsula Leisure prepares to manage Centenary Park Golf Course

The countdown is on, with less than one month until Peninsula Leisure officially tees off at Centenary Park Golf Course. From 8 July 2026, Peninsula Leisure will assume management of Frankston’s premier public golf course, Centenary Park Golf Course. As we move closer to transition day, we wanted to share an update for golfers, visitors, members and the wider community about what to expect in the first few weeks of Peninsula Leisure operation – and importantly, confirm that it will very much be business as usual for golfers. Our focus is on delivering a smooth transition, and continuing to provide the great golfing experiences that you are familiar with. Introducing Peninsula Leisure Peninsula Leisure is a company wholly owned by Frankston City Council, governed by a professional board and Management Team, charged with the management of Council’s aquatic and recreation facilities, including Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre, Pines Forest Aquatic Centre and Frankston Skate Park. Our purpose is to create YOUR place to be active, happy and connected, and we are excited to bring this same approach to Centenary Park Golf Course. Our model of management is unique, like at PARC, any net surplus generated through the facility is reinvested directly back into the Frankston community, creating even greater health, wellbeing, and social value outcomes for Frankston. What to expect on day one, Wednesday 8 July We’re focused on ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to your experience. The usual operations: From 8 July 2026, when Peninsula Leisure assumes management, golfers will still enjoy everything you know and love about Centenary Park Golf Course, including:
  • Rounds of golf
  • The driving range
  • Golf cart hire
  • The Pro Shop
  • Food and beverage offerings onsite
Over the coming weeks, we will continue to build on the retail range, food and beverage offer and other programs and services. New Golf Carts: A new fleet of golf carts will be arriving, featuring upgraded comfort, premium seating and new GPS functionality. You will continue to hire the carts the same way you currently do. We are on track for these to arrive from day one – fingers crossed! Driving Range updates: Driving range balls will no longer be purchased through the existing app. Instead, golfers can purchase balls directly from the Pro Shop (for cash payments) or pay at the dispenser onsite at the Range (for tap and go functionality). Lessons: Golf Pros will continue on at the course, so if you want to improve your game, the Pros are here! Retail & Hospitality: Yes, you will be able to buy all the essentials. And yes, you will be able to get your coffee and toasties! The Pro Shop will continue stocking golfing essentials during the transition, with plans to progressively grow and refresh the retail offering over time. Similarly, the menu on day 1 will include all the basics, with the view to grow overtime based on feedback and demand. Tell us what you’d like to see: We’d love your feedback. From 8 July, please come and say hello, share your thoughts, and help shape the future services and offerings at Centenary Park Golf Course. In the lead up, please email info@peninsulaleisure.com.au.
