March Forward – Celebrate International Women’s Day

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls”, and calls for action that can unlock equity, opportunity and a future where no one is left behind.

This year we are celebrating International Women’s Day with events and activities at all Peninsula Leisure sites.

PARC – Women’s Health Seminar: Perimenopause and Menopause Wellbeing

When: Wednesday 5 March, 7:30pm
Location: Studio 1

Join us for a Women’s Health seminar with two guest speakers psychologist Mariela Rossi and nutritionist Alison Tehan.

Mariela Rossi will deliver an important session on Menopause and it’s effects on women’s mental health and overall wellbeing. Discussing symptoms, impacts and the importance of normalising this stage in every woman’s life, Mariela Rossi will explore tools to connect with others and combat isolation.

Alison Tehan will explore the essential role of nutrition in managing perimenopause and menopause. Learn how the right foods can support hormonal balance, boost energy, and reduce symptoms like brain fog, and weight changes. With practical tips and expert insights, this session will empower you to nourish your body for long-term wellbeing.

PINES – Lap Swimmer Breakfast

When: Saturday 8 March, 9am – 10am
Location: Pines Forest Aquatic Centre

Our PINES team are hosting a complimentary breakfast for our community. Head down  for a morning swim and enjoy yummy blueberry pancakes, cooked fresh on pool deck.
This event is open to everyone.

 

Frankston Skate Park – All Girls Skate Lessons

When: Saturday 8 March
Location: Frankston Skate Park

On International Women’s Day, our Skate team will be hosting additional group lessons for girls and women.

Our First Push All Girl Skate lessons are perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics and get comfortable riding around the park. The sessions are free and are delivered by our supportive and knowledgeable instructors. All equipment including, skateboards, pads and helmets can be borrowed.

Girls Only – Beginner, 12.00pm
Girls Only – Intermediate, 1.15pm
Girls Only – Bring a friend, 3.00pm
Girls Learn to Skate, 4.15pm
