8 Week Challenge Success Story

Meet Kaz, a wonderful PARC employee and two-time participant in the PARC 8-week challenge.

Being 52, overweight and with hip issues I decided it was time to do something about it. The timing was perfect, PARC’s 8 week challenge was about to start so I decided to take the plunge and signed up and I haven’t looked back since.

Exercising for me was a walk around the block, so PT sessions were all new to me. Pru was fabulous and made me feel very welcome. She altered the exercises to suit my needs and I met a great bunch of girls that I would always look forward to working out with.

The challenge provides nutritional information, meal plans, additional group training sessions along with the amazing support of all the PT’s.

With my weight loss being slow I went and saw the LifeCare Nutritionist, Alison. She too was very helpful and gave me a few tips and made really helpful changes to my diet.

It certainly isn’t an easy journey but then neither is weight loss. Once my first 8 weeks ended I was really happy with how far I had come so I decided to go again.

I had a different trainer this time, Cassie, but she was fabulous and always encouraging us to go that little bit further.

This time around I was in my routine and it made it that little bit easier. I was still achieving weight loss and cm’s were disappearing then… bang! In week 7 I achieved my weight loss goal that I had set myself.

Dancing around the house I was so so happy and proud of my efforts.

So as I write this my 2nd challenge has now ended. I started a PLUS size 18 and now I can fit into a size 14 jeans and my tops are no longer an XL but a medium.

If you are looking to do a challenge then jump on board PARC’s 8 week challenge, you will feel fitter stronger and leaner in a short 8 weeks.

No regrets from this fit chick!!

This upgrade is fully funded through Frankston City Council's Capital Works Program, and reflects the ongoing commitment between Council and Peninsula Leisure to continually invest in community infrastructure that supports health, safety and wellbeing.

The new Sec-Pro gates will be a significant improvement to how you arrive and enter the Centre, with:

✔️ Instant response time

✔️ Improved reliability

✔️ Improved accessibility with wider gates

During the installation period, any gates already fitted will remain in the open position, and our team will be on hand to assist. For members attending a Group Exercise Class, please be sure to check in by scanning your wristband at our kiosks.

Did you know Dry Needling/Accupuncture is available from the Compass Allied Health team, located in our Allied Health Suites

Dry needling is a technique where a very fine needle is gently inserted into tight or painful muscles to release “knots” (trigger points). These tight spots can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced movement.

The goal? It help muscles relax, move better, and feel less painful.

Who can benefit?
• Athletes & active people
• Anyone with tight or stiff muscles
• Desk-related neck or back pain
• Headaches, sciatica, jaw pain (TMJ), or joint issues

Curious if dry needling is right for you? Get in touch with Compass Allied Health to book an initial consult with Jack (Giac).
⭐️ Swimming for a cause: Meet Clinton Hosie ⭐️

This February, PARC Aquatic Access member Clinton Hosie is taking on a new challenge - swimming 14km to raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation as part of their Super Swim.

Every minute of every day, a child in Australia is admitted to hospital. Clinton is diving in to help bring joy, laughter, and comfort to sick kids when they need it most.

We love seeing you at PARC putting in the laps, Clinton - your dedication in and out of the pool is inspiring.

Good luck, have fun, and thank you for swimming for such an important cause!

Still buzzing from the Waterfront Festival! 🎡

What an absolutely incredible event! A massive congratulations to our Frankston Skatepark team for pulling off such an massive activation. It was fantastic to see so many local riders on the half pipe, and seeing our community rally around them and enjoying the mini skate lessons!

Rotary Peninsula 2.0's annual Duck Derby was full of fun and chaos! It was so much fun cheering on our very own duck, Percy and Hydro, to the finish line.

Thank you so much @waterfrontfest for having us! We can’t wait for next year!
