Expressions are open for our fully funded adult beginner swim program

Dive into a life-long love of water with our free More People Can Swim Adult Program

Are you an adult who’s never quite found the time or opportunity to learn to swim?

Ready to take the plunge and feel more confident and safer in and around the water as we head into summer?

Do you want to learn to swim so you can participate with your loved ones in the water?

Now’s your chance! PARC is excited to invite you to our More People Can Swim adult intensive program – a fully funded, 5-week intensive course tailored for beginners, running this November and December 2024.

What’s the program about?

This program is designed for adults (18 years and over) who have little to no swimming experience and want to develop essential water safety skills. Over the 5 weeks, you’ll build your swimming confidence, learn safety and rescue techniques, and enjoy full access to our aquatic facilities at PARC and Pines to practise and play.

Whether you’re looking to improve your safety in the water, or simply want to enjoy the beach with a bit more confidence, this program is for you! Expressions of Interest are now open, and close on 31 October. Express your interest HERE. 

Program Details:

When:
Week 1: Monday 11 November
Week 2: Monday 18 November
Week 3: Monday 25 November
Week 4: Monday 2 December
Week 5: Monday 9 December

Where: Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC)

What’s included:

  • A free 5-week swim membership at PARC (including access to Pines)
  • One swimming class each week
  • Free parking at PARC during the program
  • A starter pack with swimming equipment: kickboard, cap, towel, and a bag

Cost:

It’s completely FREE! Thanks to the generous support of Frankston City Council and Peninsula Leisure, this program is fully subsidised.

Who’s eligible?
This program is for you if:

  • You’re 18 years or older
  • You’re a beginner with little to no swimming experience
  • You’re not currently enrolled in any other swim program

How to Apply:

Simply express your interest before 31 October and get ready to make a splash! Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to learn and thrive in the water.

Calling all kids aged 3–10 years old and their families!

On Wednesday, 14 January, we are collaborating with our friends at Frankston City Libraries, to host a water safety story time at Frankston Library and Carrum Downs Library. With a special appearance from Hydro, we`ll read our favourite water safety books, play exciting water-themed games, and learn simple ways to stay safe around water – whether at the beach, pool, or even in your own backyard!

The sessions will be at:
💧 10:30 am at Frankston Library
💧 1pm at Carrum Downs Library

Bookings are essential. Book online via the Frankston City Libraries` website.

Our sister Centre, PINES, are extending their opening hours! 🥳

PINES` opening hours will be extended for the months of January and February 2026.

The updated hours for January and February are:
– Monday – Friday, 6am – 8pm
– Weekends and public holidays, 8am – 7pm

By extending the our opening hours into the evening, we are able to provide more access to the public so you can get your laps in, or just enjoy a dip in the pool later in the summer evening.

The change in hours are adjusted for January and February 2026 only.
