Flyers Success at National Championships

Recently, Flyers Swim Team members competed at the National Swimming Championships in Adelaide.

You may well recognise Flyers swimmers as they train at PARC regularly and wear their black, purple and yellow uniforms with pride.

7 members qualified and competed in the week long competition. William Bowden, Joel Fraser, Helena Herman, Jackson Lazzar, Brayden Miles, Lily Newman and Charlotte Simmons all swam individual events through the championships. Of these swimmers, Jackson and Charlotte made multiple finals and Brayden was able to get a bronze medal from his finals appearances.

Everyone swam particularly well with each swimmer doing best times and really enjoying the experience.

Brayden, Jackson, Charlotte and William have also been selected on various Victorian representative teams, also being joined by Callum Miles and Lauren McAuley. For such a small club, Flyers is over-represented in these teams.

Without the support from Simon and the team at PARC, achieving these milestones in a highly competitive sport would be much more difficult.

If you see any of the Flyers swimmers in the centre, be sure to congratulate them as they have certainly achieved a lot in the last few months.
