PINES Christmas and New Year opening hours

As we count down the days to Santa’s visit, the Centre hours will differ slightly from usual operations.

Pines Centre opening hours:

Christmas Eve Tuesday 24 December: 6am-6pm 
Christmas Day, Wednesday 25 December: Closed 
Boxing Day, Thursday 26 December: 8am-6pm
New Years Eve, Tuesday 31 December: 6am-6pm 
New Years Day, Wednesday 1 January: Public holiday hours 8am-6pm 

From everyone at Pines, we’d like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for your support and for choosing us to be the Centre where you are active, happy and connected.

Have you heard of Incidental Exercise? 🧹🚶‍♀️

Incidental exercise is physical activity that occurs naturally as part of your daily routine! It’s the small bursts of activity you accumulate throughout the day, such as carrying in the groceries, or playing with the kids, that helps you achieve your 30-20-2.

Some examples of Incidental Exercise are:
– Doing housework like vacuuming, mopping, or gardening
– Walking up stairs instead of taking elevator or escalator
– Parking further away from your destination to get your steps up
– Walking during lunch breaks, or having a standing meeting

Remember, all movement counts! 🌟

Help us ensure PARC is a safe venue for the whole community to enjoy 🏊

At PARC, we participate in the statewide Watch Around Water program. Watch Around Water is an education and public awareness-raising program that defines the minimum supervision requirements for children in a pool setting.

When visiting PARC, your child will be given a coloured wristband, based on their age. These wristbands help our lifeguards identify the level of supervison required for your child, and support a safe aquatic environment for everyone.

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0`s Birth Tree is one way that`s helping us to achieve this vision.

By joining this year’s Birth Tree, you will receive a timeless tribute of your loved one in the form of a tree and plaque. Equally importantly, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to the community to help more children build confidence in the water, with free infant swimming lessons through the Can Swim initiative. 🏊
