Media Release: Peninsula Leisure tees off at Centenary Park Golf Course

Centenary Park Golf

Centenary Park Golf Course has entered an exciting new chapter, with management of the much-loved Frankston facility now transitioned to Peninsula Leisure.

Peninsula Leisure will continue to deliver a high quality public golf experience for the Frankston community, with a focus on continuity, customer experience and community benefit.

Peninsula Leisure Chief Executive Officer Kath Thom said the organisation was proud to take on management of the course and build on its strong local legacy.

“Centenary Park Golf Course is an exceptional public golf course and a valued community asset that has been cared for and enjoyed by generations of local golfers,” Ms Thom said. “We’re committed to honouring that legacy and ensuring it continues to thrive as a welcoming, inclusive and well run public facility.”

“The focus moving forward is on consistency, exceptional customer experiences, and creating opportunities for more people to enjoy the game of golf.”

The transition follows a decision by Frankston City Council and supports Council’s ongoing commitment to strengthening community recreation assets across Frankston.

Peninsula Leisure, a wholly Council owned organisation, has an established reputation for delivering high-quality community sport, recreation and aquatic services, with a strong focus on community benefit and creating positive customer experiences. Peninsula Leisure currently manages Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre, Pines Forest Aquatic Centre and Frankston Skate Park.

Experienced team to support smooth transition

Many familiar faces will remain at Centenary Park Golf Course, with a strong cohort of existing golf course staff continuing with Peninsula Leisure to support continuity for golfers and visitors.

Newly appointed Golf Operations Manager Tristan Cross brings more than 15 years of experience across golf operations, customer experience and facility management. His appointment reinforces Peninsula Leisure’s commitment to delivering exceptional golf experiences and growing participation and community connection through sport and recreation.

“Centenary Park Golf Course is a fantastic facility with a strong community behind it,” Mr Cross said. “I’m excited to join Peninsula Leisure, and look forward to working with our team, golfers and the Golf Club to continue delivering great experiences and growing participation in the game.”

Long-standing Centenary Park team member Brodie Wool also continues in his role, bringing knowledge of the course and strong connections with the local golfing community.

Together, the team will support a smooth transition for golfers and ensure continuity of service from day one.

What golfers can expect

For golfers and visitors to Centenary Park Golf Course, it is very much business as usual. All core services will continue, including rounds of golf, the driving range, golf carts, lessons, Pro Shop and on-site food and beverage.

Further information about what golfers can expect from day one is available via Peninsula Leisure’s website.

Support and questions

The Peninsula Leisure Golf Operations team will be on site from 8 July to support golfers and visitors throughout the transition period and assist with any questions or feedback.

Further updates will be shared with golf course users and the broader community as Peninsula Leisure settles into day-to-day operations at Centenary Park Golf Course.

Peninsula Leisure thanks Council and the community for their support throughout the transition and looks forward to welcoming golfers to Centenary Park Golf Course under its management.

Have you heard of Incidental Exercise? 🧹🚶‍♀️

Incidental exercise is physical activity that occurs naturally as part of your daily routine! It’s the small bursts of activity you accumulate throughout the day, such as carrying in the groceries, or playing with the kids, that helps you achieve your 30-20-2.

Some examples of Incidental Exercise are:
- Doing housework like vacuuming, mopping, or gardening
- Walking up stairs instead of taking elevator or escalator
- Parking further away from your destination to get your steps up
- Walking during lunch breaks, or having a standing meeting

Remember, all movement counts! 🌟
