Member spotlight – Natalie Battaglia

Meet Natalie, one of our Small Group Training members with a passion for strength training.

Natalie has been a member with PARC for three years, and trains with Celina as a part of her Small Group Training membership. We sat down with Natalie and asked her to share her thoughts on Small Group Training and what motivates her.

What made you want to start Small Group Training?

I’d been hearing a lot about the decline of muscle strength and bone density for women in their 30’s and 40’s and the importance weight training plays in reducing this. I wanted to start weight training but also understand the importance of getting technique right to avoid injury, so I thought Small Group Training was a great place to start.

What do you love most about Small Group Training?

I love that it holds me accountable. I know that I’ve paid the money and Celina, and the other women are expecting me to be there, so it gives me the push I need to go even if I’m not feeling like it! Plus, it’s motivating training with other women who also want to get stronger and being able to celebrate each other’s achievements.

What is something you are most proud of/goal that you achieved?

I’m really proud of my improvements for both hip thrusts and dumbbell bench press. I’m also proud that I kept coming all through Winter when it was dark and cold and all I wanted to do was stay in bed and keep sleeping.

What is your advice for anyone wanting to be more active but not sure where to start?

Start small and build your way up. I knew I wanted to do three weight training sessions a week. I started with one session a week, then a couple of months in I added another. Now I do two Small Group Training and one solo weight training session a week which is the perfect amount for me.

Well done Natalie on all your hard work!

We love seeing you at PARC putting in the laps, Clinton - your dedication in and out of the pool is inspiring.

Still buzzing from the Waterfront Festival! 🎡

What an absolutely incredible event! A massive congratulations to our Frankston Skatepark team for pulling off such an massive activation. It was fantastic to see so many local riders on the half pipe, and seeing our community rally around them and enjoying the mini skate lessons!

Rotary Peninsula 2.0's annual Duck Derby was full of fun and chaos! It was so much fun cheering on our very own duck, Percy and Hydro, to the finish line.

Thank you so much @waterfrontfest for having us! We can’t wait for next year!
