Reformer Pilates has had a name change!

Our popular Reformer Pilates class has now changed to Fit Reformer.

It’s the same class you know and love, with a combination of traditional Pilates as well as the strengthening and toning aspects of circuit training. Be sure to keep an eye out on our timetable for the new class name. New to Fit Reformer? If you’ve not attended one of our Reformer Pilates classes before, you will need to take our Intro Fit Reformer class. Our instructors will go over in detail the equipment used, safety instructions as well as some of the more common exercises to get you started.

[faq title=”Frequently asked questions” open1st=”0″ openAll=”0″]

[faq_item title=”What is Fit Reformer?” number=”+“]Fit Reformer is a combination of traditional Pilates with the strengthening and toning aspects of circuit training. Our dynamic, fast-paced, high-performance classes are performed on a spring resistance apparatus called a Reformer Bed.

[/faq_item] [faq_item title=”How do I get started?” number=”+“]We strongly recommend you start with a Fit Reformer – Beginner class, even if you have done Reformer Pilates elsewhere. Fit Reformer uses a unique piece of equipment with many different components, so to ensure your safety and to get the most out of the class we require all members to complete the beginner class at least once before attending a regular Fit Reformer class.

During this class, we will give a detailed induction on how to use the peak Pilates bed, the basic principles of the class and demonstrations and support with basic exercises. This will set you up for success in our Fit Reformer classes in future.

[/faq_item] [faq_item title=”What do I need to bring?” number=”+“]All participants are required to bring a sweat towel, drink bottle and wear socks in class. We recommend socks that have grips on the sole for safety, these can be purchased from reception.

Our team will strictly enforce no socks, no sweat towel, no class.

[/faq_item] [faq_item title=”Is Fit Reformer suitable if I’m injured or rehab?” number=”+“]Fit Reformer classes are strength and conditioning classes, not suitable as rehabilitation from an injury.

If you are returning to exercise following an injury the suitability of this class will depend on your injury and advice from your health physician. Before attending a class we recommend you speak to our Health & Fitness team by booking a PARC Start or Check-in appointment.

[/faq_item] [faq_item title=”I’m pregnant, can I still attend a Fit Reformer class?” number=”+“]If you are new to Reformer, unfortunately, this class is not suitable for you at this time. We encourage you to book an appointment with our Health & fitness team in the gym so they can support and guide you throughout your pregnancy with suitable workout and class options to ensure you and bubs are safe.

If you are a regular Fit Reformer participant, we encourage you to let our instructor team know ASAP so they can guide you through different options. However, after 15 weeks we do not recommend you continue due to the dynamic form of the training program in the group environment. We encourage you to book an appointment with our Health & fitness team in the gym so they can support and guide you throughout your pregnancy with suitable workout and class options to ensure you and bubs are safe.

[/faq_item] [faq_item title=”Is there a minimum age to participate?” number=”+“]Yes, you have to be over the age of 16 years old to attend a Fit Reformer class. Our classes are not suitable for growing bodies. Please see our Health & Fitness team to book an appointment to work out the best program and most suitable classes if you are under 16 years old (parent/guardian must attend this appointment).

Join us in going off social media for a day on 24 October.

Next Friday, on Friday 24 October, we are joining Unplug24, a 24-hour break from social media in solidarity with SmackTalk – an organisation founded by local Wayne Holdsworth to honour his son, Mac, and raise awareness around suicide prevention.

Unplug24 encourages us to step away from social media and reconnect offline to:
🔌 Protect mental health
🔌 Raise awareness to prevent suicide
🔌 Support vital education and awareness programs

Last year, more than 134,000 people took part, proving that sometimes the most powerful connection is offline. This year, SmackTalk is aiming to reach over a million participants in Australia and around the world.

Let’s join together and unplug from all social media for the day – at work and at home – to show our support for this important cause.

Restart a Heart Day at PARC this Saturday ❤️💙

Join us this weekend, on Saturday 18 October, for Restart a Heart Day, a vital community event that raises awareness about cardiac arrest and empowers people with lifesaving CPR skills.

Hosted by Monash University Paramedicine, this educational pop up in PARC's foyer will help build a safer, more prepared community.

Did you know that only 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest? Most cardiac arrests happen in the home, so learning how to act fast could save the life of someone you love. Restart a Heart day will teach you how to respond in just three simple steps: CALL, PUSH, SHOCK.

Drop by PARC on Saturday morning between 9am – 12pm to learn from paramedics and paramedic students, who will be on hand to guide you through these critical steps and boost your confidence in delivering CPR.

Every minute counts when restarting a heart – let’s work together to improve survival rates!
