PINES is set to open for 2024/2025 summer season

With warmer days quickly approaching, Frankston City and Frankston North locals can look forward to the season open of the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre for the 2024/2025 summer season on Friday 1 November.

Peninsula Leisure Operations Manager Jarrah Wynne is excited to welcome the community back to the 40-year-old local outdoor pool. Time spent at the much loved PINES over summer is a tradition for many families and individuals in the Frankston community.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone back to the PINES pool for another fantastic summer season. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, stay active, and create lasting memories under the sun. We’re fortunate to have such a fantastic outdoor community space right here in Frankston. Our team has worked hard to ensure the pool is ready for a fun, safe, and memorable season.” said Mr Wynne.

Welcome back to our Centre Leader, Chiara!
We are very happy to welcome back Chiara, who will again be taking on the role of PINES Leader this season. Chiara oversaw Pines’ biggest season yet, with 43,251 attendances, the launch of our Quiet Hour Swim pilot program, a season extension and countless events for the community. She was recognised for her work as Centre Leader last season when she received Peninsula Leisure’s Most Valuable Employee award for her hard work and dedication, and we are thrilled to have her leading the Pines team again.

Chiara is looking forward to another big season at PINES and welcoming back our incredible community of lap swimmers, families and schools over the coming months.

“I am very excited to be back working with the PINES community, continuing to create a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. I can’t wait to get started and share what is going to be a fantastic and hot summer with everyone.”

Keep up to date with what’s happening at PINES
We’ll be sharing lots of updates on our Facebook page in the lead up to our open day, as well as fun exciting news about our Free Family Fridays and other community events. Be sure to follow us to keep in the know.

We can’t wait to see you at Pines!
We’re counting down the days until we open the gates and welcome our amazing PINES family once again to our award-winning pool.

Have you heard of Habit Stacking? 🤔

It's a great way to add movement into your day by pairing small exercises with habits you already do - helping you be active and achieve 30-20-2, even when life is busy!

You can incorporate simple exercises into your daily task, such as:
- Squats while the kettle boils - turn waiting time into movement time.
- Calf raises while brushing your teeth - two minutes of strength, twice a day.
- Lunges down the hallway - every trip becomes a mini workout.
- Marching on the spot while folding laundry- complete some of your vigorous or moderate exercise every trip.
- Glute squeezes while sitting at your desk - perfect for busy workdays.

Remember, all movement counts 🙌
