PINES Opens for 2022/23 Summer Season

Make a splash this summer at the award winning Pines Forest Aquatic Centre.

Frankston City’s much loved Pines Forest Aquatic Centre will open for the 2022/23 summer season on Tuesday, 1 November.

Peninsula Leisure CEO Kath Thom said staff have been working hard over the winter months to prepare for a busy summer, adding: “The pool is looking great for another big outdoor pool season.

“Once again, the seasonal pools will be a great place to cool down and have some fun. There will be lots happening over summer from free community events, learn to swim opportunities and school swimming carnivals. Don’t forget to get your season pass for unlimited access to this award winning facility.”

Pines Forest Aquatic Centre was recently awarded Facility Management of the Year – Seasonal at the annual Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) Awards.

The ARV Industry Gala Awards reward outstanding achievement and commitment to the Aquatics and Recreation sector, and recognise the best of the best in facility management.

Long-time Pines Forest Aquatic Centre user, John, said: “Pines is our favourite pool. It has wonderful staff and an easy vibe. We are so lucky to have this in our community and we’ve just been waiting for it to open all winter.”

Fellow aquatic centre user, Sue, added: “It’s a great little local centre. Great for the community.”

Pines had a huge season last year, eclipsing the previous average daily attendances by 21 per cent, seeing the biggest summer on record at the aquatic centre.

Attendance records were smashed with visitation figures for the much-loved community facility reaching over 40,000.

Season launch fun on the Melbourne Cup Day Public Holiday, 1 November, includes free entry, giveaways and more. Pines Forest Aquatic Centre will remain open until the end of March 2023 and for more information, please visit our website.

Peninsula Leisure Pty Ltd is a subsidiary company wholly owned by Frankston City Council and is charged with the management of Council’s two aquatic facilities, Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre and Pines Forest Aquatic Centre.

Can Swim offers free swimming and water safety programs for the Frankston community, helping you build confidence in and around the water and develop essential skills to enjoy summer safely.

Fully Subsidised September Programs include:
– 3 Day Infant Water Familiarisation Program
– 4 Day School Holiday Intensive Program
– Drop In Family Water Safety Sessions

These programs are designed for people who cannot swim or who have not had the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons. Find out which programs are coming up and express your interest via the link in our bio.
