Peninsula Leisure Celebrating Success – winners in the spotlight

Celebrating Success – Winners in the spotlight

After last month’s fantastic Celebrating Success awards night, we wanted to again recognise the hard work of our Peninsula Leisure team, as well as spotlight the individuals who won our Peninsula Leisure Values Awards.

As well as the Team Awards, we also recognise a winner for each of our PL Values – We think People / We reimagine / We deliver.

These team members went above and beyond in their roles, delivering incredible results and fostering a positive culture in the PL team. We caught up with each of the PL Value winners as they shared their thoughts on the nomination and award win.

Most Valuable Employee – Chris Rich

A true go-getter, Chris is thriving in her new Sales Manager role, building an entire team from scratch, delivering on a substantial sales strategy and exceeding sales targets throughout the year. As a long term Peninsula Leisure champion, Chris’ knowledge of PARC and PL has shone as she has evolved through different roles in the business, all while living and breathing the PL Values!

“Thank you so much for the nomination, working at PARC over the last 9 years is like my second home and many of you have become like family, I feel so grateful and honoured to be valued among my work colleagues.”

We Deliver – Lisa Newman-Morris

Lisa strongly led the implementation of the Xplor project, that changed the face of our interaction with our customers and centralised many software products into one. While leading a team of staff to deliver this product, she, single-handed in many instances made sure we met the required timelines and outcomes. Lisa was always willing to support teams with Xplor training and ensure all staff had the skills to deliver.

“I feel privileged to have been able to lead such a talented and capable team through the delivery of Xplor to the business. The project team did such a fantastic job through configuration, testing and eventual rollout (given we had several challenging false starts along the way), and I was so proud seeing how positively all our staff embraced the biggest change project we have delivered as a business!”

We Re-imagine – Jessica De Araugo

With the implementation of Xplor, Jess saw an opportunity to “reimagine” our websites and branding to redesign the customer interaction with Peninsula Leisure via the website and portal. Starting with branding and finishing with three new websites, this was a large and valuable piece of change and her hard work within this area created a successful outcome for both the project and PL.

“The reimagine award is all about challenging the status quo and doing things differently – and we do this every day at Peninsula Leisure. I feel so lucky to work with such a dynamic group of driven and talented individuals. Let’s all keep reimagining! Oh, and I love our new Masterbrand website, it’s beautiful!”

We Think People – Scott Werkmeister

Scott is everyone’s go-to PL person, and not just for assets and maintenance. Scott is a trusted colleague for many employees and take his role of Diversity and Inclusion Officer seriously in support of anyone needing some guidance. Scott had a massive year stepping up into the acting Asset Manager role for many months and filled a very important role for the team, with minimal fuss and a lot of capability – well done Scott!

“I am beyond grateful and genuinely touched by receiving the We think People Award. There are countless outstanding individuals across all departments who could have be nominated for this award. To me, We think People – is a commitment to recognising and cherishing each person’s unique qualities and fostering a collaborative environment in the workplace.”

Congratulations again to the winners

We thank you for your hard work and dedication, and are looking forward to the PL family continuing to do what is at the core of Peninsula Leisure – helping the community be active, connected and happy.
