Latest Covid-19 Restrictions Update – 4th November

Thank you to our wonderful PARC community for your support during the difficult COVID closure period

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to prepare the Centre and we are working towards opening in a limited capacity from Monday 9th November. The current Victorian Government restrictions mean that our opening will look very different from last time, due to the limited amount of people we are allowed within the Centre.

At this stage as we can only have 20 people per area within the facility as confirmed by the current guidelines, we are working towards offering:

  • Gym floor open with limited capacity of 10
  • Group Exercise limited to 1 class at a time with a small capacity of 10
  • 50m Pool open with limited capacity lap swimming/exercise of 20
  • Warm Water Pool open with limited capacity of 20

In addition to this we’re also finalising the development of a 5-week Learn to Swim program to launch on Monday 16th November for the remainder of Term 4, which aims to support our younger swimmers’ re-engagement into swim lessons. The inability to access learn to swim programs during lockdown is a significant and emerging safety risk. Peninsula Leisure remains committed to ensuring every child in Frankston can swim, and as a result we have prioritised learn to swim programming.

Thank you so much for your patience as we finalise all the details of our reopening plan. We will be confirming the final details of our reopen plan, including how to book, what to expect and details of our offering on Friday 6th November. Please keep an eye on your inbox, our website and Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest information

Peninsula Leisure has always been committed to ensuring we offer a diverse range of programs to our community, providing options to keep you all active during closure and beyond. Therefore, in addition to the above opening programming we continue to offer the following existing programs to the entire community:

There is a lot to consider in relation to opening a Centre as large as PARC, and we have been actively working with Council to ensure that when we do open, we have the right processes in place to protect your safety.

At the moment all PARC memberships remain on suspension. More details will follow on Friday.

Thank you for your patience. We’re so excited about welcoming you back at PARC again next week!

Have you heard of Incidental Exercise? 🧹🚶‍♀️

Incidental exercise is physical activity that occurs naturally as part of your daily routine! It’s the small bursts of activity you accumulate throughout the day, such as carrying in the groceries, or playing with the kids, that helps you achieve your 30-20-2.

Some examples of Incidental Exercise are:
- Doing housework like vacuuming, mopping, or gardening
- Walking up stairs instead of taking elevator or escalator
- Parking further away from your destination to get your steps up
- Walking during lunch breaks, or having a standing meeting

Remember, all movement counts! 🌟

For more information about 30-20-2, or helpful resources and workouts to get you moving, head to our Digital Hub.

Help us ensure PARC is a safe venue for the whole community to enjoy 🏊

At PARC, we participate in the statewide Watch Around Water program. Watch Around Water is an education and public awareness-raising program that defines the minimum supervision requirements for children in a pool setting.

When visiting PARC, your child will be given a coloured wristband, based on their age. These wristbands help our lifeguards identify the level of supervison required for your child, and support a safe aquatic environment for everyone.

Did you know that our vision is that 'Every Child In Frankston Can Swim'? 🌳👶

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision.

By joining this year’s Birth Tree, you will receive a timeless tribute of your loved one in the form of a tree and plaque. Equally importantly, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to the community to help more children build confidence in the water, with free infant swimming lessons through the Can Swim initiative. 🏊

You can purchase a place for a baby born this year on the Birth Tree here: https://events.humanitix.com/parc-2026-birth-tree-and-family-garden
